Live Demonstration Days 2025
In 2025, WANTFA hosted three events across Western Australia, showcasing the latest in agricultural machinery and technology.
With support from GRDC and partners SPAA, DPIRD, MADFIG, and the FACEY Group, two of these events were part of the GRDC Grain Automate Project and all three were funded by the GRDC WANTFA live demonstration day project.
WANTFA 2025: Innovation in Action Across WA Farms: Three demo days, hundreds of farmers, and the latest in ag tech—see what happened!
Merredin – July 1st
The first event featured a Grain Automate Workshop which covered a pathway to automation, five foundations of autonomous farming, verge platform and practical planning, diagnosis and practical planning, data decision making, monitoring, Imaging and camera technology, integration with machinery and variable rate mapping.
This was followed by live demos of sprayers and spreaders. Machines from Croplands, Case Patriot, Miller Nitro, Horsch, Hagie, and Agrifrac were put to the test, alongside spreaders from Horsch and Agri-Spread.
Farmers were especially interested in boom stability and comparing the value of the machines on show. And how they performed in live demos.

Wickepin – July 3rd
The Grain Innovate workshop was held first followed by a soil amelioration live demonstration.
Six implements were demonstrated on-site. Key focus was on comparing functionality, depth control, and effectiveness for local soil types:
- Horsch Tiger 4MT – One-pass ripper-mixer
- Gessner HDR-6011 MKII – Deep ripper
- Bednar Terraland – One-pass, interchangeable delving tines
- Gregoire Besson Discordon – Independent tine ripper-mixer
- Gregoire Besson Occitan – High-speed cultivator
- Lemken Karat 10 – One-pass speed tiller

South Tammin– August 14th
WANTFA’s standalone demo day began with a workshop by Spray Guru Bill Campbell, followed by sprayer demos featuring Agri-Frac, Croplands, Case, Miller Nitro, and Horsch.
The Swarm Bot autonomous sprayer ran in the background, impressing attendees with its seamless operation. Farmers also enjoyed ride-and-drive sessions with local dealers before ending the day with a social function.

Acknowledgements: WANTFA sincerely thanks GRDC for funding these events, our host farmers in Wickepin and South Tammin, the local grower groups, and our fantastic MC Wes Baker, who brought energy and insight to all three demo days.
