How do different crops rate in building up mycorrhizal fungi?

Some crops are more mycorrhizal than others. Wheat forms mycorrhizas, but the levels are lower when relatively high quantities of phosphorus are added. Canola and lupins do not form mycorrhizas. Most other legume crops are mycorrhizal. Pasture species are generally mycorrhizal (eg. legumes and grasses). When a crop that is not highly mycorrhizal is grown, the plants that are grown in a subsequent rotation have lower levels of mycorrhizas than plants grown after a rotation that was heavily colonised. Also, most warm season crops are highly mycorrhizal.
