A major focus of WANTFA’s research efforts has been directed at finding answers to managing crop residues as part of a profitable no-till cropping system.
WANTFA Research and Development Officer, Mike Collins, lead a three year GRDC-funded project aimed at Developing Innovative and Sustainable High Residue No-Till Farming Systems. Mike studied residue management methods used by farmers in the WA wheatbelt and the findings are drawn into a ‘best bets’ package of practical ideas to share with other farmers.
